Pipe Coating Benefits
This coating creates a pipe-within-a-pipe that is damp-proof, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant and non-corrosive. TDT Plumbing can also be built up through multiple applications to thicknesses of 2 to 4 mm, depending on the size of the drain line. Pipe coating from TDT Plumbing has an estimated service life of 30 to 50 years. And, because the coating itself reduces friction, flow is enhanced which minimizes potential blockages.
Pick Your Pipe
The epoxy resin has been proven to adhere to all types of piping material, including clay, concrete, cast iron, and PVC. One more advantage to using pipe coatings is that the new system has over many other coating type renovation systems is that it has been designed to be applicable to both horizontal and vertical pipelines.
Picote Pipe Coating Process
The Picote Pipe Coating process begins with cleaning and degreasing the drain line so the resin can adhere to the pipe itself. Then, the application hoses and pump are prepared with the pipes size and type taken into account. For best results, the lines run no more than 50 feet to the farthest application point. Resin is then mixed and added to the pump and applied by rotating brushes inside the pipe. Once applied and allowed to cure, the pipe gets a video inspection to ensure the coating is complete and determine if added layers are necessary.
Once TDT Plumbing completes the pipe coating process, the pipes can be put back into service about 24 hours later.
Our Picote Pipe Coating Application Methods:
Brush-On (Picote)
What is Picote Coating?
Picote is specifically designed for drains and sewer lines ranging from 1 1/4 inches up to 6 inches. It uses a new resin coating system comprised of a specially formulated epoxy resin. This resin is applied to the inside wall of deteriorated pipes using a specially designed brush and Picote Coating Pump. Once hardened, the new pipe coating will withstand temperatures from 40 below to 248 degrees Fahrenheit.
TDT Spin Cast
What is TDT Spin Cast?
The spin cast application method is great for pipes with lots of twists and turns. Spin casting uses an epoxy-resin mixture that is pumped into your pipe. Inside, our machine spins and casts the mixture onto the pipe’s inside walls.
