Description: Swiney Park is a City of Houston public recreation park targeted for renovation. The Park was undergoing scheduled renovations when contractors discovered the failing sewer drain line. The general contractor, Stuart Builders, required an alternative repair solution to complete this project on time and on budget. They contacted TDT Plumbing regarding their pipe restoration technologies, specifically to inquire into the ACE Duraflo® “Trenchless†Pipe Restoration
Process.

THE PROBLEM:

Swiney Park is a City of Houston public recreation park targeted for renovation. The park is located just north of downtown Houston, Texas. The Park was undergoing scheduled renovations when contractors discovered the failing sewer drain line. The 60’ cast iron sewer and drain line was 4†in diameter experienced extensive corrosion and erosion resulting complete removal of the bottom of the pipe. Demolition and line extraction were deemed as time prohibitive that would result in budget overruns.

THE SOLUTION:

The general contractor, Stuart Builders, required an alternative repair solution to complete this project on time and on budget. They contacted TDT Plumbing regarding their pipe restoration technologies, specifically to inquire into the ACE Duraflo® “Trenchless†Pipe Restoration Process.

The project was completed without intrusion to structures, foundation, grounds or throughway. The new line was pulled through the existing line, attached, cleaned, and connected to the city main in two business days.
As a result of the success of the Swiney Park project, Stuart Builders has contracted TDT Plumbing to utilize their in-place pipe restoration processes for additional high-profile projects.
