Project Type: Municipal — Museums and Libraries — Pipe Restoration

Location: Temple, TX

Description: The SPJST Museum and Library, located in Temple, TX, is a repository of history and artifacts from American Czech communities. Approximately 80 linear feet of 6†sewer drain line under the property had failed. The failing pipe’s contents was backing up and seeping into the museum’s basement. TDT Plumbing, located in Houston Texas, brought the ACE DuraFlo® in-place, pipe restoration technology to Temple Texas and the SPJST Museum and Library.

THE PROBLEM:

The SPJST Museum and Library, located in Temple, TX, is a repository of history and artifacts from American Czech communities. Approximately 80 linear feet of 6†sewer drain line under the property had failed. The failing pipe’s contents was backing up and seeping into the museum’s basement. The basement acts as the museum’s library, containing invaluable and irreplaceable historical documents. The failing drain put the museums contents at risk to damage from moisture and/or possible foundation demolition and reconstruction. Management’s concerns for minimizing or eliminating demolition and preserving artifact safety were the primary focus of the repair directives.

THE SOLUTION:

TDT Plumbing, located in Houston Texas, brought the ACE DuraFlo® in-place, pipe restoration technology to Temple Texas and the SPJST Museum and Library. In lieu of accessing the drain through the basement floor, TDT Plumbing technicians were able to access the drain and entrance/exit points, posing no risk of damage to the museum’s documents and artifacts. The drain was jet cleaned (hydro jetted) and a new †?cured-in-place pipe’ was installed. The new pipe was installed inside the original line, without damage to the foundation or any cosmetic surfaces. As a result, the line was completely restored to better than new condition in less than one day.
